How to Make Pesto

Hi, I’m Julie Deily from The Little Kitchen
and today I’m going to show you how easy it is to make pesto. It’s seriously way easy,
you even might think I’m crazy to even make this video. I usually use my KitchenAid 12 Cup food processor
to make pesto but if you don’t have one, you can use a blender. Start by adding 3 cups of packed fresh basil
leaves into your food processor. If you’re using a blender, add the olive oil first. Then, add the nuts. I used chopped walnuts
instead of pine nuts because they are less expensive. Next add the grated Parmesan cheese. Put the lid on top and pulse for a couple
of seconds. Then start streaming in the olive oil. As it’s streaming, pulse. Keep pulsing until blended and the basil is
completely processed. And that’s it, it’s that simple and only takes a couple of minutes
to make. My recipe for pesto makes about 2 1/4 cups. If you’re storing it in the fridge or the
