First time at Yo! Sushi? Here’s what you need to know!

First time at Yo! Sushi? Here’s what you need to know!

Today I’m going to show you around the new Yo! Sushi restaurant inside the Selfridges store in Birmingham. It’s got a fresh new look and an exclusive new menu. But if you have never eaten at Yo! Sushi, perhaps you’re not quite sure what to expect. Don’t worry, I’m going to walk you through the whole thing. So when you arrive at Yo! Sushi, you’ll be seated at the bar or in a booth and you can order your drinks straight away. There’s a great choice of soft drinks, wines, beers, or why not try a glass of sake! And on your table, you’ll also find chopsticks and napkins as well as wasabi paste, pickled ginger and soy sauce. Choosing your food is really easy, as it all flows past you on the conveyor belt. The different colours on the plates indicate the prices of the items. Green and blue are cheapest, grey and yellow are the most expensive. Now, don’t worry if you don’t like the idea of eating raw fish. The word Sushi refers to the way that the rice is prepared, and has nothing to do with raw fish. There are lots of varieties with cooked fish, cooked meat, and Yo Sushi also has over 25 vegetarian and vegan items on the menu. If the item you want to eat isn’t on the conveyor belt, press the help button and you can order off the menu. Your food takes a few minutes to be prepared and brought over to your seat. We ordered some crunchy Nori Tacos topped with avocado, salmon and tuna Furikake fries covered in spicy sriracha mayo and soft, sweet Bao buns filled with tender belly pork and hoisin duck It was all so good!! When you’ve finished eating, your bill is worked out by counting up the plates on your table. It’s really that simple! Now you know what to expect at Yo! Sushi, and I really hope you’ll give it a go. If you’ve enjoyed this video, please hit the like button and leave me a comment to let me know your favourite kind of sushi So until next week, it’s bye from me!

  2. This is a fantastic vlog Sally!! My eldest would eat at Yo Sushi every day if he could – has something for everyone, I'm veggie and I always leave so full

  3. I think I could sit there for hours scooping up different plates, I really do love sushi! Great to see so much variety too.

  4. We are big fans of Yo Sushi and I've been going for years. Loving the look of the new restaurant at Selfridges Birmingham.

  5. I went past this last week and noticed it was new. I've never had Sushi as I didn't like the idea of eating cold rice and raw fish so it's great to hear there are lots of other things on offer.

  6. I've only tried Sushi once and I wasn't a fan but thats not surprising as I'm not that fussed on cooked fish either. One of my daughters on the other hand is mad for it and keeps wanting us to go with her, as she is desperate to try the little conveyor belt. She going to go with her God Mother

  7. Fantastic! I have always been scared by Yo Sushi as I didn't know how it all worked!! Also I don't want raw fish and thought thats all they did! Great thank you

  8. Yo! Sushi sounds great. I've tried sushi loads of times though and I've not been keen. I would try it here if I was with a group of friends who like this sort of food, though 🙂

  9. I must say, I love your voice! Anyway, this place looks yummy!  it's cool see how much of a variety there is! Sushi is my favourite food ever so it's hard to chose a favorite but usually I go for something with raw salmon! yum 😀

  10. I have never been to Yo Sushi before. I think I always think that it will be mostly raw fish and I'm a vegetarian but I'll check the menu now!

  11. The tacos look really good! I love Yo Sushi, but I haven't been in a while. Looks like I'll be taking a visit soon

  12. I love sushi! Thanks for explaining that, maybe next time I'm somewhere where they have Yo sushi, I'll try it 🙂

  13. I'm hoping to take a date to Yo Sushi in a few days, we've both never been before. Very useful video to get rid of some first timer nerves

  14. OMG I love sushi!!!! my mouth was watering with all of the different sushi you showed! This looks like a really fun place! If I'm ever in that area, I'll be sure to check it out!

  15. Yep I want sushi now after seeing that conveyor belt haha. Thanks for the tips on what to know. Love your editing it is so well done

  16. Wow that's a lot of vegetarian options! We're vegetarian and most sushi places we've been too only has a handful of options.

  17. There's a few people who say they don't like Japanese food. Don't worry, this restaurant isn't a Japanese restaurant in any sense of the word, it's a British company that makes food fit for the British pallete under the aforementioned "sushi" pseudonym. The Bao looks uncannily like Shanghai baos (China) and the Sriracha mayonnaise looks great as it comes from Thailand and I love it with Hellman's. So please don't be scared, folks. It's really not Japanese cuisine, I'm pretty sure you'll find something that you'll like there and if not, they have French Fries, so there's something for everyone.

  18. Thanks for the review , ive always been curious about this place as nobody else likes sushi apart from me but
I will try it soon though and now i know a bit more from your review
    Thankyou sally 👍🏽
