Winters is about to end,
the climate is changing… And March has already started, That means children’s exams are about to begin. so its becomes very impotant
to keep their immunity strong. Our Indian food has an ingredient that
is important and also beneficial, And that is “Haldi” also called as Turmeric. So today we will be Making our
delicious “Haldi Wala Doodh” Which has also been adopt by westerners
and named it as “Turmeric Latte. I have taken fresh turmeric
to make Turmeric Latte. If that’s not available, you
can powder the Dry turmeric, or can directly use powdered turmeric. We will softly peel the turmeric. It’s a different pleasure to
use a fresh ingredient. Children usually don’t like the sight of milk, So I thought to give this authentic
Turmeric Milk a new twist, and make it even more tastier. Now we will grate this small piece of Turmeric. For 1 cup of Turmeric Latte I have
taken 1 1/2 cup of milk. I will add in the grated turmeric. 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder, if you want you can add fresh
crushed Cardamoms as well. 2 pinch of cinnamon powder or fresh
cinnamon that you can filter later. And..a bit of Saffron,
up to 4-5 saffrons strands. 1 pinch black pepper powder. And now we will boil the milk for 8-10 minutes. Turmeric is not only beneficial
but is also natural antiseptic, Back then in your childhood.. ..turmeric was the first thing
you applied on your wound. If you’ve seen, I’ve also added
black pepper that is because, it acts as a catalyst to speed up
the benefits of the Turmeric. Have a look at the color of milk, the smell of the fresh
turmeric is overwhelming. I personally like saffron and cinnamon, you can avoid that if you
want, that will be fine. Let the milk boil on a low flame
for 8-10 minutes so that, Its flavours, nutrients and all properties, get released and mix nicely with the milk. According to Ayurveda, ghee
is a great tonic for digestion, joints and for overall health. so think if ghee and turmeric comes together, what a powerful combination it will be! So as we are making a healthy drink,
we will not add sugar in it, instead, we will add 1 tsp Jaggery powder in it. You can also add honey if you want. I think our Milk is ready
now, we will filter it. Turmeric is considered
as auspicious in Indian rituals. I will add crushed almond flakes You can also add almonds
when boiling the milk or, You can use it for garnish. So our Haldi wala Doodh is now ready. If you don’t have or want to use
any ingredients from the ones I’ve used, That will be fine, you can experiment
with new ingredients. For example you can also add
ginger if your child’s having cold. So there are no such fixed rules for that. Try and serve different things
